Major Assignment 1 Feedback

1. The most challenging parts of this assignment were using the specific quotes in the right way and writing in APA format. In future reference to help with this, we could see how quotes are used and how they are explained in professional text. Also, writing in APA is difficult, although we had examples of this in class, and it was tough to use for my paper. 2. Analyzing sample paper was the most helpful. It showed me examples, good or bad, and allowed me to see what I could add or take away from my paper. It also helped with seeing in-text citations and the style that certain writers used.

Minor Assignment for Wed, Aug 22

The first major assignment asks us to conduct an analytical report of how writing is used in our specific field. We must interview an individual in our field on how they use writing for their profession and how they have come to do so. Also, the assignment asks us to find/use three academic and three non academic sources to further explain how writing is used in our field. Incorporating our findings from the interview and the six sources, the report should contain a thesis backed by an explanation and citation. We will use AATP to format the structure, language, and references of our specific reports. 1. Are the three academic/non-academic sources going to be used against each other or with each other to prove our thesis? 2. What type of genre will this assignment be? 3. How to structure the entire report using the interview and 6 sources?
